  • This black and white scene is in a City of London side street where a bicycle parked on a parking pole at a kerbside has somehow fallen over in the gutter. Fittingly, the parking bay is for specifically for a disabled motorist and that word has been stencilled in bold white lettering on the wet road surface after a rain shower. The pavement and tarmac glisten making it slippery but the bike has been left and there is no-one in this scene. Reflected inn the puddle is the modern architecture of the office building, also seen rising from street level.

  • Severley disabled man sleeping beside his wheelchair on the streets against a graffitied wall. Disadvantaged people on the streets in the area of Omonia. Just moments after these pictures were taken, a junkie came up and stole a 1 Euro coin from the sleeping mans hand. A clear sign of the desperation on the streets here. In this area the amount of ill, disabled, badly injured, or sick people either begging or sleeping on the streets is staggering. The area has been taken over by drug dealers, homeless people, and prostitution. Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece. • Disabled protester speaks to those gathered in the city centre at the Kill the Bill protest on 3rd April 2021 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Demonstrations have been held all over the UK against the The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, whose legislation, which covers a broad range of issues, would give police more powers in controlling non-violent or static protests and imposing a set of new rules for police to deploy. • Ageing, elderly parents sunbathe with a teenage daughter as the father oddly faces a brick wall while sat in his wheelchair. Looking bored with the family holiday, the young lady of about 18 years of age, sits on a concrete block, the highlight of a vacation at home in Britain, rather than a package trip in mainland Europe. The father has a tanned back but sits facing the brick wall in an eccentric, odd way of sunbathing. He is obviously disabled and can’t reach a beach via steps and perhaps this is why they have opted for this rather desolate corner of the seaside town resort.

  • Elderly ladies in wheelchairs are pushed along the front by their carers at Southend-on-sea, Essex. Thier are an extraordinary number of disabled people in Southend. The town could be described as run down as while there are some signs of affluence, these are few and far between. The predominant atmosphere is quite rough feeling and quite poor. Southend is a seaside resort that is very popular with people from the East side of London due to it's close proximity, just an hour away by train along the Thames Gateway. With the decline of seaside resorts, from the 1960s much of the centre was developed for commerce and many of the original features were destroyed through redevelopment or neglect.
