Cost Of Living Protest In Birmingham

Peoples Assembly cost of living crisis demonstration on 12th February 2022 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. With some governments in other countries taking steps to protect the public by capping energy bills, freezing prices or covering 80% of excess bills, or applying a windfall tax to energy companies on top of corporation tax, the People’s Assembly Against Austerity is asking the question why these measures can’t happen in the UK. With energy bills rising, tax and National Insurance increasing, fuel prices continuing to rise along with average grocery prices, the cost of living crisis is gripping millions of households, especially those of low and medium incomes which is driving many people into fuel poverty.
