China - Maijieping - Abandoned Village

60 year old Pei Huayu walks down a path in Maijieping Village, near Dengfeng, Henan Province, China on 23 October, 2013. Once the home to some 200 people, the village of Maijieping has seen its numbers dwindled to only four permanent residents as most have moved to more convenient locations with access to jobs, schools, and hospitals.
