Protest Outside Drax AGM London
Scientist environmental activists protest outside the annual general meeting of the UKs largest bioenergy supplier Drax on 26 April 2023 in London, United Kingdom. UK energy regulator Ofgem is investigating Drax’s compliance with sustainability rules amid increasing scrutiny of the companys activities, including of its source wood and its descriptions of the process used to generate electricity as carbon neutral. Government biomass subsidies to Drax are currently expected to expire in 2027. Drax has today announced its highest ever annual profits, £731m as compared to £398m the previous year.
