Protesters demonstrate against the Rosebank North Sea offshore oil project operated by Equinor which has been given the go-ahead and consent for drilling granted by the British government amidst huge concern over the continued use of fossil fuels on 27th September 2023 in London, United Kingdom. Environmental campaigners have petitioned for years to stop the oilfield going ahead seeing it as a potential climate catastrophe, so this latest announcement is a huge setback for them, while the government claims that Rosebank, which is the largest untapped oil and gas field in the UK will give energy security to the country. The protesters held up placards and banners highlighting that CO2 emmissions from the Rosebank oilfield will be more than that of the 28 lowest-income countries in the World combined.
