Locals gathered on Folkestone seafront for a candlelit vigil to mark the anniversary of the death of the 32 people who were tragically killed while crossing the channel in a small boat, lit candles and the name of each person who died was read out on Sunny Sands Beach on 24th November 2022 in Folkestone, Kent, United Kingdom. Locals came together to honour the memory of lives lost and to once again, urgently call on the British government to put an end to these needless deaths and to act by implementing safe and legal routes to asylum in the UK.
