Protest In Support Of UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese London

Metropolitan Police officers move Iranian activist Niyak Ghorbani away from Francesca Albanese r, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories OPT, as she arrives to speak at Queen Mary University of London on 12th November 2024 in London, United Kingdom. The Special Rapporteur is an independent expert appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to follow and report on the human rights situation in the OPT. International lawyer Francesca Albanese, who was appointed to the role in May 2022, has faced a sustained campaign to discredit her from the Israeli government and its supporters. There were protests for and against her having been invited to speak outside QMU.
