The pilgrimage of San Lazaro in December is the largest religious event in Cuba when thousands of people make their way to El Rincon church on the outskirts of Havana. Santeria is a syncretic religion practiced in Cuba, it is a mixture of Yoruba tribal practices brought from Nigeria during Colonial times, and traditional Catholic beliefs.
