A dystopian landscape alongside the Forresters Pub, a long-standing bar featuring exotic dancing ladies on 17th September 2016, on the Eastern Esplanade, at Southend, Essex, England. Far right is the dome of the towns famous Kursaal entertainment centre, now fully restored after decades of semi-dereliction. Southend-on-Sea is a seaside town on the north side of the Thames estuary 40 miles 64 km east of central London. In its heyday, the working class visited from the capital when train transport allowed them to enjoy its beaches and the worlds longest pier. Its splendour faded on the advent of package holidays to Spain etc.
