Scottish National party leader and Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at the start of the Stop Trident: CND demonstration against Britain's Trident nuclear weapons system. Thousands of protesters made this Britain’s biggest anti-nuclear weapons rally in a generation. Demonstrators gathered from far and wide to protest against the renewal of Trident. Many coming from Scotland, where Britain’s nuclear deterrent is based.
